League Information

Jr. Jags is proud to be a part of SEPYLA Lacrosse. We feel SEPYLA provides a very competitive lacrosse environment while also allowing unexperienced players to learn the sport and have fun.

SEPYLA provides tiered divisions (1, 2 & X) at every age level starting in 3rd and 4th grades. We hold evaluations to fit the player in the most appropriate tier. All players are highly encouraged to be present for both dates 3/7 & 3/8 if you wish to be a part of any of those teams.

If your player has no experience at all Jr. Jags will be an amazing experience for your player to learn the game from some of the best coaches in the area.

We hope to see your player out on the field!

Hey there!

Meet your coach contacts for the 2024 season!

Jr. Jags Lax

Pre-K & K:

Our Kindergarten lacrosse program (Bobbleheads) will focus on the very basic FUNdamental skills and concepts.  Developing a love of lax and learning the foundational concepts will be at the center of everything in this program.  There will be a huge emphasis on connections as we will work hand in hand with current Garnet Valley High School players who will help in the instruction of our Bobbleheads, teaching them everything they know!

1st & 2nd:

The D-level Jr. Jags program will continue developing skills and the love for the game of lacrosse.  We will have one practice during the week focusing on fundamentals (catching, throwing, groundballs, dodging, shooting, defense, etc.).  Kids will be broken up into different PLL teams.  Each Saturday morning, teams will play two small field games against two other Jr. Jags PLL teams.  In the ‘D’ level, boys will play on small fields with less players than a ‘normal’ lacrosse game.  Later in the year, 1st and 2nd graders will have “play days'' with other townships.

  • D-Level Coaches

    • Bryan Tingle, Justin McQuaid, Jim Cusick, Bryan McGlynn, Shaun Smith, Mark Federowicz, Scott Bartholomew, Steve Callahan, and more..

3rd & 4th (SEPLYA C Division):

The 3rd and 4th grade (C-level) program is unique in the SEPYLA league, as it is the first time our boys are playing full field 10 on 10 lacrosse.  Much of the year will be focused on our players getting used to playing on the big field and all that that entails.  Skill development, fun, and developing a love of lacrosse will be a few centerpieces for our C-level players throughout the season.  The C1 team will be a select group of players looking to compete and win each game while developing as a team and as individuals.  Our C-2 and/or C2X teams will have a larger concentration on basic skills and progression while competing amongst other teams in SEPYLA.

  • C-Level Coaches

    • Alex DeLong, John D'Annunzio, Jeff Morgan, Michael Fulginiti, Fran McKeever and more..

5th & 6th (SEPLYA B Division):

The Jr. Jags 5th and 6th program will feature a unique mixture of emphasis between individual and team development.  Having now had experiences previously playing full-field 10 on 10 lacrosse for at least a year, our B-level teams (5th & 6th grade) will learn even more team concepts and higher level skills throughout the year.  Our B-1 team will be looking to be as competitive as possible each and every game without losing the overarching focus of progressing as an individual and a team.  The B2 and/or B2X teams will have a much more centered focus on skill development and fun during the season.

  • B-Level Coaches

    • Bryan Tingle, Justin McQuaid, Eric Moore, John D'Annunzio, Melissa Xanthopolous, Rob Canavan, and more..

7th & 8th (SEPLYA A Division):

The 7th and 8th grade program (A-level)  is designed to get our Jr. Jags ready for the next level, which is high school lacrosse.  Working hand in hand with the Garnet Valley Middle and High School coaching staffs, coaches here will help get the boys learning higher-level drills, vocabulary, offensive and defensive sets, and more to assist in a seamless transition from youth lacrosse to high school lacrosse. The A1 team will be a highly competitive team looking to win, all the while looking to develop as individuals and as a team.  The A2 and/or A2X teams will focus more on individual skill development foremost, while remaining competitive as a team throughout the season.
